Celebrating Excellence and New Beginnings: Graduation Ceremony 2026
The Graduation Ceremony of the Class of 2026 at Sir John Wilson School was a truly distinguished and memorable occasion—an elegant celebration of academic and extra-curricular achievements, perseverance, and new beginnings. Held on Saturday, 11th April 2026 at the school’s main campus in Satarkul, Dhaka, the event brought together O Level and A Level graduates, their proud families, esteemed guests, and Faculty members for a day filled with pride, reflection and joy.
The ceremony was gracefully hosted by Zuhayr Enam Chowdhury, class 8 student and Sehrish Marzan Haider, class 7 student whose poise and energy ensured a seamless and engaging flow throughout both the events. The day was organized into two segments: the 21st IGCSE Graduation Ceremony in the morning and the 14th A Level Graduation Ceremony mid-day.
A defining highlight of this year’s ceremonies was the announcement of a historic milestone for the institution—Sir John Wilson School’s official recognition as a Board Examination venue from the upcoming May–June 2026 examination series. This significant achievement was commemorated through the Chief Guest from the British Council Bangladesh, marking a proud moment in the school’s journey of academic excellence.
The ceremonies were honoured by the presence of distinguished chief guests, Mr. Maxim Raimann, Exams Director, British Council Bangladesh for the IGCSE Graduation Ceremony and Professor Daniel W. Lund, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh for the A level Graduation Ceremony. Their insightful and inspiring addresses encouraged graduates to embrace the future with confidence, knowledge, resilience, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
The program commenced with a beautiful piano recital by Zuhayr Iqbal, class 6 student setting a tone of elegance and reflection. This was followed by vibrant musical performances, including a spirited group song by Class 10 Graduates—Evan, Mihran, Zarraf and Raeed—and a heartfelt performance by class 8 students Arusha Zamir Twinkle and Arisha Tehzeeb, both of which captivated the audience and showcased the artistic talent of the senior section.
At the heart of the ceremonies were the deeply moving speeches delivered by school leadership team, including the Principal, Ms. Sabrina Shaheed and Senior Vice Principal, Dr. Farhana Khan Zaman, whose words reinforced the values of integrity, perseverance, and excellence. The student speakers brought a powerful personal dimension to the event. Ariyana Islam, Valedictorian and Samarah Kamal, Salutatorian for the IGCSE Graduation Ceremony reflected on their shared journey with commitment and pride. From the A Level cohort, Tahmid Arman, Valedictorian along with Salutatorians, Afeef Sadman and Farhan Shabin Habib, delivered thoughtful and inspiring messages that captured the essence of their academic and personal growth.
Adding further depth to the occasion, parents delivered heartfelt speeches that resonated deeply with the audience. Mr. Mohammed Abdul Akher, Senior Vice President at Citi Bank, and Ms. Rumana Rooslan, Principal Architect of Studio Indo Sarah shared meaningful reflections during the IGCSE ceremony. In the A Level segment, Ms. Umme Salma, Senior Vice President and Head of Planning at Prime Bank PLC along with Mr. Ahmed Zafrul Hasan, Head of Corporate at Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Bangladesh offered heartfelt insights into the shared journey of parents and students. Their words beautifully highlighted the strength of the partnership between home and school.
One of the most poignant moments of the ceremony was the screening of a special video presentation, which beautifully chronicled the graduates’ journey through the years. This cinematic tribute evoked a deep sense of nostalgia and pride, reminding all present of the experiences and friendships that shaped this cohort.
The ceremonies also celebrated excellence through the presentation of certificates and special awards, recognizing outstanding academic achievement, exemplary school spirit, athletic accomplishment, and commendable attendance. These accolades reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who excel both inside and beyond the classroom.
A joyful cake-cutting ceremony marked a symbolic transition, celebrating not only the culmination of years of dedication but also the beginning of new aspirations. The formal distribution of graduation certificates stood as a proud acknowledgement of each student’s hard work and perseverance.
The event concluded with class-wise group photographs, capturing cherished memories, followed by a warm and convivial refreshments session at the Multipurpose Hall. This provided an opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to connect, reflect, and celebrate together.
